we made it

Just a quick note to let you all know that we made it all the way down
the Baja coast. Right now we're just off Cabo San Lucas on our way to
Los Frailes. Had to slow the boat down so we didn't get there in the
dark. Should arrive about 7 AM. Then we will be truly cruising the
Sea of Cortez. Lots to blog about but have to wait until we're
anchored at Los Frailes.

Watch for some new stuff tomorrow.

Steve & Lulu,

I'm betting you're safely anchored by now in Los Frailes and can't find an internet connection. With the building north wind, you'll likely be there at least a couple days. Can't wait to hear all about it.

Would some of you fellow sailors be on the lookout for Steve and LuAnn. We haven't heard from them since the 28th and he said he would blog on the 29th. We are a little concerned. The name of their sailboat is 'siempre Sabado. Hope I have spelled it right. Thanks, His Mom Joan

Everyone,

I did some poking around and then contacted a facegroup group in Los Frailes about Steve & Lulu. This morning they confirmed that Siempre Sabado is indeed anchored there. They said it has been windy and that is likely why they haven't moved yet. It's much calmer this AM, so I'm betting they'll move today. If they stay, I'll see if I can't get someone to contact them. If they leave, I'll try to get someone to verify. Anyhow, seems pretty certain that they're ok.

Thank you Rod. Now we can get started on our trip to Arizona. We will be there four months but will be in contacta via the computer. I really appreciate you checking for us. I just did not know where to go or who to contact. It is unusual for Steve not to make an effort to check in.Sincerely, Joan (Mom)

Yes, Rod, thank you from all of the family. Stephen is careful to keep us updated so it's a relief to know that someone has at least seen them. Beverly (Stephen's sister)

There are a lot of areas down there that getting an internet connection is pretty sketchy, so I'm sure this type of gap will happen occasionally. It shows good seamanship to stay anchored securely, rather than head out in conditions beyond their comfort level.

Los Frailes has no internet availability. The north winds have died down today so if they left Los Frailes today their next stop is probably Muertos Cove which does have wifi at the restaurant. It takes a good 8-9 hours to reach Muertos from Los Frailes. They may wait one more day to let the seas settle down. We went from La Paz to Bahia San Gabriel today and it was still pretty bumpy.

I have been an interested follower of their blog and became concerned as well having spent a good deal of time working on the water. I checked a weather internet site for their location and found that they have probaly been dealing with 20 to 30 knot north winds for the last several days. The other comments confirm this. Anchored down and snug as bug.

I've been emailing back and forth with a lady in Los Frailes. Found her on facebook which I'm brand new to. As of 5:30 this evening Siempre Sabado is still anchored in the bay. Looks like they decided to stay another day, so tomorrow night is likely the earliest you'll here from them. I've asked her to contact them if possible, or at least let me know when they leave.

Steve & Lulu - Sorry for hijacking your blog. I've been pretty certain all along you guys were fine, but you're family's been pretty concerned (which I'm certain they'll let you know about in no uncertain terms).
