the To-Do list

In case you're interested, here's what we've been doing and what we have left to do before we take off in August. There's lots of other things to do as well but they can wait until we get underway.

Currently working on:
-Finishing the remodel of the galley
-Finishing the remodel of the head including installation of an Air Head composting toilet
-Finished installation of the Spectra Ventura 150 watermaker
-Finished installation of our Frigoboat refrigerator (except for installation of the keel cooler which will have to wait until we haul out)
-Installed another breaker panel to serve the watermaker and fridge. This also led to the identification of various wires and the elimination of a number of useless wires that led nowhere.
-Replaced pressure water pump with good ol' footpumps
-Made all new cushion covers after we altered the shape and layout of the settee cushions to maximize storage (Lulu did this and did a bang-up job).
-Built and installed a stereo/mini stereo cabinet
-Redesigned, built and installed a new settee table and support (with drawers!)
-Built a new sliding hatch, but I'm not satisfied with it and am building another one.
-Replaced the old white vinyl, padded (circa 1977) headliner with a pine beadboard headliner.
-Built a new companionway ladder to take up a little less floor space and make getting into and out of the nav station easier.

Jobs still to do before we leave:
-Install mast steps
-Inspect standing rigging
-Install Spin-Tec roller furlers on both headsails
-Alter both hank-on headsails for roller furlers (Lulu's job with her fancy-schmancy Sailrite machine)
-Replace boomed staysail with boomless
-Install Cape Horn windvane
-Install new Trojan T-105 batteries and Xantrex charger
-Refinish all the brightwork topsides
-Haul, clean and paint the bottom
-Overhaul thru-hulls while hauled out
-Plug the old 1-1/2" thru-hull that used to service the head (no need with a composter)
-Install a propane system for the "new" galley stove
-Finish installing the new headliner in the V-berth
-Design a new stern pulpit and have it built in Newport.

To do along the way:
-Install SSB radio (we'll try to get it done before we leave but it doesn't look promising)
-Install Froli mattress system (might get this one done before we leave)
-Install an opening hatch in the cockpit sole for engine room access without having to remove the entire sole.
-Solar panels?
-Wind generator?

So, with all this to do, why am I sitting here writing this?
